Hello L.A. Weber,
I noticed you reported this problem on a particular article from Broadcast:
I'm sorry you're experiencing this problem. May I ask you to give us a little more information?
- What Operating System, Browser and Browser Version are you using to view the page?
- You mention that this problem is showing up for more than just a single article. Does this particular article also display this problem? (Try looking at http://broadcast.oreilly.com/2008/11/... and please let us know.
The sidebars that you mention are supposed to appear on the right side of some of our pages - they definitely shouldn't be overlapping any content. Could you provide a URL where you're seeing that as well as the browser and OS you're using?
I tested the page in question via Litmus in the following browsers:
Explorer 8.0 Beta 2
Sea Monkey 1.0
Google Chrome 0.2
The page tested fine, no problems with the right hand sidebar.
In IE 5, our site appears blank, but there's no problem there as IE 5 is no longer a supported browser.
In Opera 9.5 the Recommended For You box doesn't render, but the page displays fine, as does the sidebar.
I'm wondering if this could be a problem with your specific browser / cache / setup -- in which case I would recommend clearing your cache, closing your browser and re-viewing the page.
Or, it may be a problem caused by a specific item we're placing in the Recommended for You box. The items recommended for you are highly specific for your particular browsing experience, and in this case I'd love to get a screenshot so we can look at the items being recommended to see if we can track down any problems with those items.
Thanks for your patience, and I look forward to receiving more info so we can track this problem down and fix it.
