If I buy a certain video, can I share it with a friend? Can I share a room and watch it together? Or is it required to get a copy for every person that wants to watch it?

You're not required to buy an additional copy of a video if you want to watch it with a friend.
If your friend would like to own the video, we encourage him to sign up for a free account on oreilly.com and purchase a copy of his own so he can have lifetime access to it and also get great offers for other products.

Though the viewing should be for personal use, for example a group of engineers at a company, not publicly announced even; not somewhere where fees are being charged to see it; or not broadcast in a public venue like a café or laundromat or sports arena.
