  • Hi,

Thanks for writing us about this. I checked with the second edition's editor, Shawn Wallace, and here's what he says:

Besides fixing the list or errata from the 1st edition, the big changes in the 2nd are updating to the newest versions of the technology:

    • Processing to 1.5
    • openFrameworks to 007
    • Arduino to 1.0 and the Uno

The code is substantially rewritten for the new versions. There are some additional topics such as:

    • Processing shader and glGraphics examples
    • Additional Arduino sensor examples e.g. gyroscope
    * Eliminated some of the less ideal components and/or replaced with better selections

    Plus some additional interviews:

    • Zach Lieberman
    • David Cuartielles
    • Matt Cottam of Tellart

You can compare the two TOCs here:

    1st edition: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/9780596154158.do
    2nd edition: http://shop.oreilly.com/product/0636920021735.do

    Hope that helps!
