Videos authentication fails after watching for while with no problem. No support in response.

Can't access my videos as authorization fails after watching them for a while No clear response from support so far. "Firewall issues" do not tell me anything, as we didn't change security policy since I watched videos last time

  • Hi Andrey,

Can you give me a little more information about your problem?   Are you watching them and then it asks you to sign in, or did you watch them previously and then
you came back to the page and it's asking you to sign in?

Sometimes that video player page doesn't recognize you are signed into your oreilly.com account, so you'll need to click "Sign In" in the upper right hand corner and log in again.

If it says authenticating, and is hanging, that can be solved usually by clearing the cache in your browser.  If it is still hanging, then there is something necessary
being blocked either by security software or a browser plugin that blocks scripts or ads.   Which browser are you using? Have you tried using a different one?

    Best regards,

  • Hi Chris,
I'm tried Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Neither worked. I'm having "authenticating" and hanging all the time. I just have cleared cache in Safari and Chrome, didn't help either. What can I do about that?

    Thanks,
    Andrey
    • Are you on a corporate network with elevated security settings?  Or if you are on a home network, do you have strict security software that could be blocking scripts?

Could you send a screenshot of your JavaScript Console in Chrome (View > Developer Tools > JavaScript Console) when you are on that page. If there's a JS error or an asset that's not loading, it'll probably show up there. You can send it to booktech@oreilly.com and I'll have a look at it.

      Thanks,
