I'm a newbie, trying to download and open the database so I can use the examples in Mastering Oracle SQL. The best I've been able to to is copy and paste one command at a time. I was doing well creating tables and then suddenly started getting "ORA-00911: invalid character" messages on commands like:
CREATE TABLE DISPUTED_ORDERS(
ORDER_NBR NUMBER(7) NOT NULL,
CUST_NBR NUMBER(5) NOT NULL,
SALES_EMP_ID NUMBER(5) NOT NULL,
ORDER_DT DATE NOT NULL,
EXPECTED_SHIP_DT DATE NOT NULL,
CONSTRAINT disputed_orders_pk PRIMARY KEY (ORDER_NBR)
Any help? Thanks, Bill
I found my answer. I had been using copy and paste, and evidently on ocassion the command included some embedded characters which weren't recognizable.
That problem solved.
But I'm still convinced there is a way to download this code without having to enter it into SQL one command at a time.
