  • Hi Bob,
sorry for the delay in responding to you about this.

Are you following the directions for that file on page xviii in the preface? On step 5 on that page it says:

    5. Move the color settings to the appropriate folder. Move the Best
workflow CS5.csf file to one of two locations on your hard drive,
depending on your platform and operating system. (Note that, in
the following, user indicates your computer login name.)

    • Under Windows 7 and Vista, the location is
    C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Color\Settings

    • Under Windows XP, it’s
    C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Adobe\
    Color\Settings

    • On the Mac, choose Go→Home and copy the color settings
    to the folder
    Library/Application Support/Adobe/Color/Settings

Once the file is in the right place you should be able to proceed as normal. This is not a file you need to open, rather, it's a file that tells Photoshop how to behave.

If you are still having issues with this file, you can email our booktech staff at:

They will be able to assist you further there.
