I’m disappointed

Request notification of eBook version

it may be useful to be able to register for notification of an eBook version release of a print only book.

I was browsing for books, and some of the choices only had print versions. I am not interested in print versions, and would have loved the option to ask for notification when an eBook version would be released.

  • There is also some print-only books out of stock without ebook version. As an ebook release it wouldn't be out of stock or at least it wouldn't make sense. I was just looking for title Practical PostgreSQL which is one of those. Additionally O'Reilly could use the statistics from the requested notifications to make sense which requested (old) books would be profitable to publish as an ebook release.

  • Hello jhh,

Our goal is to create eversions of all our print books, unless they're just so out of date as to be irrelevant. Hearing from customers like you about which titles to include in our prioritization is very helpful. Your idea of including the number of registered copies as a data point is a really good one.

Thanks for taking the time to write.
