I’m frustrated

'Read in stanza' links don't show up in mobile bookworm on Ipad

I'm having problems getting my bookworm mobile library page to show the 'read in stanza' links that are mentioned on both the bookworm and stanza FAQ page. I'm using an iPad to log in to the mobile site but do not see the links anywhere. Is this a known bug? Couldn't find anyone else complaining about it. Please advice.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Dirk,
I believe the FAQ could use some updating and clarification. I'll try to do that here. In the help page for Bookworm (http://bookworm.oreilly.com/help/), a mobile reading experience is available on the iPhone (or any web-enabled mobile device) by pointing the device's browser to the mobile site (m.bookworm.oreilly.com). The reading experience requires the device to be online, and there are no direct exports that also load into the Stanza reader.

If you're not going to be online and would like offline reading on your device, then you'd install the Stanza reader (Aldiko for Android, or any other offline-capable ePub reader). There are manual steps to take your ePub from Bookworm to that reader, and they are outlined here: http://www.lexcycle.com/faq/how_to_ge.... The 'export' step referred to in the instructions refers to the export of the ePub from Bookworm to your local disk. Then the ePub would need to be added to Stanza.

If you've got O'Reilly eBooks, you can also go to "Your Products" within your O'Reilly Account and download whichever format you'd like, including ePub which you can then load to any reading environment.

    Regards,
    Pascal

    Hey Pascal,

Thank's for your clarification, I think I just misunderstood the Stanza FAQ page. I managed to get my books uploaded to both bookworm and Stanza.

    Thanks again for your help!
