Programming Android 2nd Edition Upgrade

I just bought the first edition of Programming Android. I noticed there is a second edition coming. I upgraded my copy to O'Reiley liftetime updates. Will I get the 2nd edition for free when it comes out and can I get the early the release version?

  • HI Joshua,
When we mention updates, it is referring to formatting or errata fixes to that edition only. For instance if you have Network Warrior 2nd edition, and the author releases corrections to the errata or there are formatting updates to the ebook versions, then when we update the ebook we send out an email usually to inform customers to download the "fixed and updated" ebook. This is 100% free.

If a new edition were to come out, that is when you would be eligible for the 50% off the new edition's ebook. This is what is generally referred to as an "upgrade" not an "update".

The second edition of that book should be released at some point early next year, if the pervasive rumor is true, though I don't have an exact release date at this time. Should the title be part of the Early Release selections, you will be eligible for the 50% off the new edition.
