Poor quality of paper and printing

I am from India. I had heard a lot about "HeadFirst Java" book from my friends. When I went to buy the book, I was pained to see the poor quality of paper and printing used. It appeared that the quality was poorer than photo-copied material. Still the book was priced at around INR 600 which demands quality in terms of paper and printing. Considering the quality of content, no doubt, the book is good. But are people expected to pay for sub-quality material out of need? Also please let me that if this is not the right place to raise this issue, where can I expect the sollution to come from. Thank you.
