Photoshop Elements 10 frustration

I have searched the missing manual for Photoshop Elements 10 and can't find an answer to this question. When I open the organizer ALL the photos load, is there any way to open it and not have them all visible? I have thousands of photos so it takes awhile. Thanks!

  • Hi Kathleen.

Alas, the point of the Organizer is that it displays *all* your images so you can, well, organize them. =) But with lots of images, that can take a while.

I asked Barbara Brundage (the author of your book) about your situation, and she had a few suggestions for speeding things up. One thing she said to try is clicking a tag name as soon as possible. Also, make sure that Organizer is through generating all the thumbnails for all the photos--sometimes you may want to leave the Organizer running on overnight to let it complete that process. And finally, go to Organizer Preferences-->Media Analysis and be sure that the Auto Analyzer is turned off.

    I hope that helps.

  • Hello Kathleen,

I did some research you may want to visit this page: http://missingmanuals.com/cds/photosh.... It appears that Appendix B might have the answer that you are looking for. Thank you for your interest in the Missing Manual series. Hope that helps and have a great day!
