  • Hello Lucia,

Thanks for your interest in Pervasive Information Architecture. I'm sorry for your frustration, and unfortunately I'm a little confused as to what you're asking. This ebook is the full ebook as far as I can tell and not a sort version that you might obtain for free at Google books, even though I don't know the specifics of that.

In certain books (like this one) pages might state "This page intentionally left blank" which is often used as a separation of content. After looking through this book I did find that pages with "This page intentionally left blank" were placed before the start of a new chapter.

I just want to let you know that O'Reilly media has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and more information on this can be found here: http://shop.oreilly.com/category/cust....

    Hello Paul,

thank for you quick answer. After comparing again the epub and the pdf version, I can not be agree with your answer. The pages left blank before the start of each new chapter, are not used as a separation of content. It's an introduction of the chapter that is missing at the pdf version. You can check it at the epub version. For example, at the chapter three, this introduction is missing in the pdf:

"This chapter introduces a holistic vision of user experience and information architecture. First, the idea of process as a sequence of actions, events, or behaviors unfolding in space and time and characterized by a certain continuity is introduced. Ubiquitous computing and complexity are creating a significant shift from product to experience and changing user experience design into the shaping of this process. As information is a core layer, information architecture is affected as well and moves on to design ubiquitous ecologies, complex information spaces bridging multiple media and environments. A manifesto of this new pervasive information architecture is proposed. Finally, the chapter introduces the five heuristics to evaluate and design pervasive information architectures, which are detailed in the following chapters.
Keywords: complexity; cross-media; cross-channel; ecosystems; heuristics; information architecture; media ecology; transmedia; ubiquitous computing; ubiquitous ecology; user experience"

Waiting for your answer. Kind regards.

  • Hello Lucia,

Here is what I heard back from our ebooks team concerning this:

"Elsevier replied that these contents are not missing contents. The introduction which is included in the ePub and H300 dataset are written by the authors in the sales team for the search and marketing functionality in platforms.

Their books team explained that these contents weren't expected to be captured in the PDF."
