I am thinking of buying a book in pdf; if I like it, I probably will want the paper version too. Is it possible to buy the pdf (at full price) today and buy the paper book next week for the price of (paper+pdf) minus (the price of the pdf only)?

Yes, it would be possible for us to assist you with a purchase like this. However, it would be a manual process and you would need to contact our customer service department to request this. 1-800-889-8969 or if you're outside of North America, 707-827-7019. We're open M-F, 7am-5pm -8GMT.
Since this was answered 6 years ago, is there a new answer? I have two questions actually;
1.Can I buy the paper book now that I have the ebook, eb
2.In my linked Dropbox folder, what can I do without messing it up?
I'd like to be able to put other people's things, ie the few Amazon Kindle books I have, (I far prefer your non-DRM) nearby.
can I put them in /apps/amazon ? Or will you overwrite that sometimes?
2a.Similarly, can I add comments to the files you dump; the sorting and metadata is lacking, so I would like to add my own, but not if you delete files that I post there.
Sorry for my delay in responding. Unfortunately I can only offer information on the first question that you have asked. If you purchased the ebook on oreilly.com you will see "Upgrade Discounts" if you click on your ebook in "Your Products". This will have an offer to save 40% off of the print version. I hope this helps and have a great day!
