I’m frustrated

Outdated text object info in Flash CS6 manual

Your missing manual for Flash CS6 has wrong information on text objects. CS6 no longer has TFL and Classic text options, nor does it have Read Only, Selectable or Editable. Could I get an updated chapter with the current features?

  • Greetings,

I do apologize for your frustration. Unfortunately I would be unable to provide you with an updated chapter on the current features as you described. Most likely an update like this would occur with a newer edition of the book, and unfortunately I don't see a new edition currently being planned.

I do want to let you know that O'Reilly has a 100% satisfaction guarantee and more information on this can be found here: http://shop.oreilly.com/category/cust....

  • Hello--

Thanks for being a Missing Manual reader. I'm Chris Grover the Author of Flash CS6 The Missing Manual. I wonder if it is possible that you have the more recent version of Flash called Flash CC (for Creative Cloud).

I just double-checked my version of Flash CS6 on my windows computer, by creating a new ActionScript 3.0 document and adding text to the stage. I also checked to make sure I have the most recent update. My version (12.0.2.529) still has TLF text and Classic. And as you can see in the image. TLF text still has a Read Only option.

Hope this helps. Thanks again for reading my book.
