NO .js libraries so what's the point?

Missing Manual:Javascript. Downloaded tutorial which made folder MM_JAVASCRIPT lesson 1.3 calls ...js/jquery.js to make alternate colors on table, however, I have no .js libraries? Was this suppose to be in the tutorial download? Obviously 1.3 did not work...kinda frustrating..

  • Hi rtrahan,

    Here's a response from the book's author:

The MM_JAVASCRIPT folder contains all of the files for the tutorials,
including the JavaScript library files. Each chapter has its own
folder--chapter01, chapter02, chapter03, and so on. The library files
are in a folder named js in the main MM_JAVASCRIPT folder. Step 2 on
page 30 provides the instruction to link to the jquery.js file with
    the following code:

Since the tutorial file--1.3.html--is inside the chapter01 folder the
correct path to link to the JavaScript library file is ../js/jquery.js.

Please look inside the MM_JAVASCRIPT folder and make sure there is a
folder named js and inside a file named jquery.js. If those files are
there, the instructions in the book should work.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have more questions.

    Have a great day!
