Just started reading HEAD FIRST C# and setting up Visual Studio Express to do the hands-on exercises. However, my new laptop has WINDOWS 8 and will not install version 10. My laptop seems to be very happy with VS EXPRESS 2012 for WINDOWS 8.
Does anyone have a directory location for a "Windows Form Application" for WINDOWS 8 ?

I have found the solution to our problem! It seems that Microsoft has created 2 versions of Visual Studio 2012, one for creating Windows 8 'Modern' style apps (apps that run under the new Start screen) and a Visual Express 2012 version for the desktop mode. Any applications which we make from this book would be considered a 'Desktop' Style application under Windows 8. The correct version of Visual Studio 2012 can be found here:
Remember the version that you want is titled "Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows Desktop".
You don't have to uninstall your current version, just make sure it is NOT open when you run the installer for the new version.
