it says use mysqldump -u user -p password publications
I never set any passwords as instructed so I have tried every combination of using -u root -u on its own -u root and p password or just -p but nothing seems to work and I've even tried using bin\mysqldump incase that works.
Prior to that I spent about an hour trying to find out where you said to set passwords and could find nothing except there was no need to set a password because we were working on a local server.
HELP please on how to make this mysqldump work.

Yes. I can do everything else in the book from that and earlier chapters on the database except use mysqldump. I'm using root and no password as it is on my machine, but the actual command below doesn't do the autodump and I've tried many variations:
mysqldump -u user -p password publications
How should this be changed if I am using root and no password. I thought the following would work but it doesn't:
mysqldump -u root publications or
mysqldump -u publications or
mysqldump -u root - p publications etc.
Does that help?
