I’m frustrated

Missing practice files

I bought the ebook and used the link to download the practice files - but when I installed them, surprise, they are not even similar to what the book says! No "chapter02, 03, etc"; files are not installed where the book says, etc. Called Support, got zero help; I don't think the tech even understood the problem. Returned ebook to Amazon for credit. The book is useless without the practice files - WHERE ARE THEY???

    Hi Pat,
I'm sorry for the frustration about these lesson files. I was the tech you spoke with on the phone, and I do understand your issue. I apologize if there was some miscommunication on my part and if I did not make myself clear.

The chapters are not clearly labeled as "Chapter 01, Chapter 02" etc as you have pointed out. The files are all there, they are just in folders labeled differently as we discussed. For whatever reason whomever labeled the practice files folders did not follow the naming conventions in the book.
I have contacted the editor to ask if we can get the files more clearly labeled

In the interim however, you may have to search around a little bit to find the practice files.

For instance, on page 12, when it tells you open the "02_opening" presentation and to go to "Chapter01 subfolder
under SBS_PowerPoint2007", the "Opening" Powerpoint presentation is actually located in the "Exploring" folder.

On page 16, when it tells you use the 03_Viewing1 and 03_Viewing2 presentations, the files are located in the same "Exploring" folder. So in essence the "Exploring" folder is where all the Chapter 01 files are located at.

Chapter 2's files are located in the "Starting" folder, Chapter 3's files are in the "Working" folder, etc. They are all there, just not labeled clearly.

I'll send you a list of exactly which folders all the files are located in today as soon as I can dig that info up.

    Cheers,
    Tai H.

    Hi Pat,
it looks like they named the folders to correspond roughly with the actual title of the chapter, so the practice files will be in the following folders:
Chapter 01 files are located in the"Exploring" folder
Chapter 2 files are located in the "Starting" folder,
Chapter 3 files are in the "Working" folder,
Chapter 4 will be in the "Adjusting" folder
Chapter 5 will be in "Adding"
Chapter 6 will be in "Enhancing"
Chapter 7 will be in "Media"
Chapter 8 will be in "Reviewing"
Chapter 9 will be in "Creating"
    Chapter 10 is in "Delivering"
    Chapter 11 is in "Web"
    Chapter 12 in "Customizing"

The example files folders did have a naming convention, just not the one they mentioned in the book. Still, it is pretty confusing and I do apologize for that. I'm working with the editor to get them updated.

    Cheers,
    Tai H.
