Missing Advanced Dialog in Photo Downloader

In "Missing Manual" for Photoshop Elements 9, p42, Photo Downloader, it shows and describes "Advanced Dialog". I had this in elements 8 but appears to be missing in Elements9. using Windows XP

  • Hi Michael.

Do you mean that you don't see the Advanced Dialog button at the bottom of the Photo Downloader? It should definitely be there so you can click it to display more options, as you see in Figure 2-3 on page 45.

If it'd be easier to email me (if you want to send me a screenshot of what you see, say), you can reach me at dawn (at) oreilly (dot) com.

  • Hi again.

I pinged the author of the book, Barbara Brundage, who explained what the problem is:

"If your screen resolution is set to less than 800 pixels high, you won't be able to get to that button and the Raw converter also won't show. If you're on a netbook, there's not really a workaround, but on a desktop computer see if you can set your screen back to a higher number."

    I hope that helps!
