Looking for list of purchased ebooks with later available update or edition

I sometimes will not immediately make a purchase of an updated ebook, based on the email notification from O'Reilly. I expected to be able to browse the "Your Products" list page on the web site to view the ebooks that have updates or later editions (with the 50% discount purchase), but am only seeing updates for purchasing print books.

Am I missing something on the "Your Products" page or is there another way to determine which ebook purchases have an update that is available?

Thank you.

  • Hello dep,

I'd be happy to help. On the "Your Products" page for you ebooks there is an "Updated" column to the far right. When you purchase ebooks from O'Reilly the updates (which may include errata and format fixes) are free. If you receive an e-mail about an update to the ebook just re-download the ebook, and you will have the updated ebook.

If you click the title of your ebook in "Your Products", and there is a new edition available you will find the 50% discount off the new edition of the ebook under "Upgrade Discounts." Hope this helps and have a great day!

  • I’m disappointed
Paul - thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately, I was hoping for something similar to the Amazon Kindle book listing where they show which of your purchases have an update available.

This means that currently I will have to wade through hundreds of ebook purchases to try to find the subset of ebooks that have a 50% upgrade discount.

Sounds like an enhancement of the website would facilitate additional purchases from avid O'Reilly customers, of which I am one. :)
