Living with multiple book formats...

In this day and age with Kindle readers on various devices, hardcover and Safari, I for one would like to buy a book and be entitled to experience it on various formats. I have not yet seen this kind of feature anywhere yet, whether it be O'Reilly, Amazon or other. O'Reilly would seem to be a natural fit for this kind of experience, leaning toward the high tech crowd. Anything forthcoming?

  • Hi pmr,

This is a great question. This sounds like you're looking for something like our ebook bundles or print + ebook bundles.

We make most of our books available as ebooks in up to five formats (PDF, ePub, Kindle-compatible .mobi, DAISY, and Android .apk). When you purchase the ebook bundle, all formats remain available to you in your oreilly.com account at https://members.oreilly.com/account/emedia, so if you want to download a different format or we begin offering the book in a new format, you can download them for free. See more details about our ebooks at http://oreilly.com/ebooks/. You can also purchase the print book with the ebook bundle so that you'll have a physical copy along with multiple digital options.

Here's an example of a book that's available in print and all five ebook formats: JavaScript: The Good Parts

Let us know if you have questions.

    Have a great day!
