Learning Python 5th Edition - is it worth buying?

What is new in Learning Python 5th Edition? I already bought ebook version of 4th Edition. Is it worth buying this new edition? Or is there some special discount for owners of previous edition, that could motivate them to "upgrade"? :-)

  • Hello Marek,

Thanks for your interest in the 5th edition of Learning Python. Here is some of what is new to this edition:

"This fifth edition completed in 2013 is a revision of the prior, updated to cover both
Python 3.3 and 2.7, the current latest releases in the 3.X and 2.X lines. It incorporates all language changes introduced in each line since the prior edition was published, and has been polished throughout to update and sharpen its presentation."

If you have an older edition of a book, you can receive 40-50% off the purchase price of a newer edition.

Register your book at oreilly.com, and we'll send you a 40% upgrade discount for print books and a 50% upgrade discount for ebooks when we publish a new edition.

View a complete list of your registered books in the Books section on Your Products page. More information on this can be found here: https://members.oreilly.com/account/b....

Hope this helps and have a great day!
