Kindle (MOBI) format is poor quality

I just purchased Jump Start Javascript. The PDF version is 184 pages. I sent the MOBI version to Kindle and it is 2500+ pages. Am I doing something wrong because the MOBI version is unreadable as formatted?

  • Hi Rob,

I just opened that mobi file in the Kindle for Mac app and it looks good to me. Can you be more specific about how it's unreadable on your Kindle?

The mobi format is different from the PDF format, because it's a reflowable format, which means it doesn't have a static page layout, and the number of pages can change depending on the size of the font, etc. PDF format is a static layout that looks exactly like the print book.
