Java in a Nutshell - comparing Editions 5 and 6 number of pages?

The forthcoming Java in a Nutshell 6th Edition (July 2014) states that it has 500 pages whereas the 5th Edition has 1256 pages. Does this mean that the 6th Edition only contains new features and will not include all the material from Edition 5?
Does each edition contain all the material from previous editions?

  • Hello Paul,

Thanks for your interest in the 6th edition of Java in a Nutshell. The new edition will contain information that will pertain to Java currently. The 5th edition was first published in 2005, and the information contained within this edition that is not applicable to Java currently wont be carried over to the 6th edition. I hope this helps, and have a great day!
