How come you think that everybody has a credit card?
I live in the European Union and there you don't need a credit card to do your everyday business. In fact, I dont even know anyone who's using a credit card in private. Here in the EU everything is done with bank cards, so-called EC-Cards. You can get money from every bank or cash terminal throughout Europe with it plus you can pay online stuff with it. Banks used to offer credit cards a couple of years ago, but no longer since there is very little use for it in the EU (you can still get one, but why should you? It costs a rather big fee).
So my question is, if there are any other means of paying for a subscription?

Thank you for writing. Unfortunately, currently, credit cards, debit cards and pre-paid credit cards are the only way to sign up for a Safari Books Online account.
However, we are aware of the need to expand our accepted payment methods and are reviewing a variety of options that will allow us to accept alternative forms of payment. On the top of our list is the requirement to support common methods of payment in the EU.
I'm sorry I don't have a solution to offer you at the moment, but we are working on this issue actively and hope to have a solution soon.
Thank you for your interest in Safari.
