Getting Started with the Internet of Things confusing specifications

Page IX of "Getting Started with the Internet of Things" (ISBN 978-1-449-39357-1) says that the potentiometer to use to run the examples in the book is: "A potentiometer with a resistance of about 100 kilohm and through hole connectors"...

On same page and the next one (X), the part number (JM2118791, Maker SHED; and COM-09806, SparkFun) directs to potentiometers with resistance of 10 kilohm.

My question is (since there's no errata for the book yet): What is the correct potentiometer to use? 100 kilohm or 10 kilohm?

Many thanks for your kind answer to this question.
