Get eBook version while I wait for Printed copy

With regards to the Laravel: Up & Running book by Matt Stauffer (http://shop.oreilly.com/product/06369...) is it possible to pay for a pre-order printed book but have access to the eBook version while I wait?

  • Hi Zombies,
If you have registered your print version of your book on your account with oreilly.com, you are eligible for a $4.99 upgrade to the eBook version. If you purchased it from us it's automatically registered in your account.
If you've purchased the book from another vendor, you will need to manually register it. To do so, sign into your oreilly.com account and click on "Register Print Books", then enter the ISBN or title of the book you wish to register. It will appear in "your products" under "print books"

Go to "your products" and click on the "books" tab. Clicking on that title will reveal the "$4.99 Ebook Upgrade" option.
Clicking on this link will take you to the cart and auto fill in the discount code for the upgrade.
If you do not see the upgrade code please let me know.

  • I've just been stung for delivery though at $20. Don't you have a warehouse/distribution centre here in the UK?

  • I’m frustrated
Ignore the last question. I've just gone ahead..

Problem now is that I see the book in my account and there's the button you mentioned for upgrading to the eBook version for $4.99

When I click this button I get taken to a page that states:
    Invalid Product(s) - (SKU-KIT-9781491936030.EBOOK).
    • Hi Zombies,
Sorry about the eBook upgrade not working for you. Drop me a line to orders@oreilly.com and I can give you the upgrade code for the book. As for delivery options, unfortunately we don't have a distribution channel in the UK, but you can order the print book from any other online retailer and register the book in your account to be eligible for the $4.99 upgrade. For our customers overseas we usually recommend Amazon.co.uk, as they have better shipping rates and often competitive rates on the actual books themselves. If you'd like to cancel your order from our shop, let me know and I'd be happy to do so for you.
