Excel - month colums search start & stop date

I am using a typical excel budget spreadsheet, with monthly columns. Contracts are fixed amounts per week/mornth, however they start and stop during the year. I have set it to calculate the month the payments start from using the contract start date and then sorting it in. However, I am trying to find a way to get it to run until the contract end date. So if a contract starts in December 07 and runs to March 08 it will automatically put that income in months Dec 07, Jan, Feb and Mar 08 simply using the amount and the start adnstop dates.
