I’m unsure

Daisy format appears to be a showstopper, well, to *me*

I recently purchased "DigitalVideoHacks" in Daisy format. I cannot seem to get either dbr or anything else to open this. Would it be possible to convert this to another format?
Any suggestions? I'm not hearing impaired or anything... just wish to read this book, please.

  • Hi Robyns,

For some reason that ebook is only available in Daisy format, which is a special format for visually impaired readers. There should be other formats of the ebook available, as we don't usually only have that format available, so there must be a mistake. I will check with the ebook team to see if they can provide other formats. If not, then you should write to orders@oreilly.com and request a refund.

  • I’m happy
Thanks for that, Chris. :) I'd be happy to read this book, to be honest, and I can't imagine how a visually-impaired person can really take advantage of the information provided, since it's about creating effective videos (no offence to the visually-impaired, I just can't - ahem - visualise how that would happen), so anyway, if the author could see his way clear to providing this in another format, I'd be deeply grateful.
If he can't, I'm not going to ask for a refund, because not only do I wish for non-DRM authors to be supported, but I also want to support those admirable publishers who make a point of providing non-DRM content to the user.
    Thank you again, Chris!
