Copy and Paste from PDF

I switch between a Toshiba laptop and a MacMini reading a Microsoft Press PDF. I can copy and paste on the Mac but not the PC. I checked the security settings under Properties on the PC and I should be able to. Any ideas what is going on?

  • Hello Paul,

I'd be happy to try and help. You'll want to make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader when trying to read the PDF. Then select the portion of the text you will want to copy, and right click on the now highlighted text. You can then copy and paste the text. Hope that helps and have a great day!

  • Really, really hate getsatisfaction for support threads. I compose an reply from the email link, hit 'Reply', attempt login, doesn't go well but wipes my composed reply. Gee, thanks.

  • Checking the version was the first thing I did yesterday. I was current.

This morning I used Revo Uninstaller Pro to remove Adobe Reader and its registry detritus. I then shutdown, restarted, and reinstalled the current version. I saw the same behavior with this now-clean install. I tried other PDFs in other locations. Same. It's been awhile since I did note-taking sessions on the PC as the Mac is my workhorse. Perhaps some Reader update killed the capability.

As a result, I downloaded and installed FoxIt Reader. It works just fine with any of the PDFs. I will use it. I have no idea what happened to Adobe Reader.
