I’m excited to have your consideration on this suggestion.

Are there any plans to do a "Send to Google Play Books"?

Currently the process I use is I buy a book from O'Reilly and then use the Send to Dropbox feature which is awesome. I have been using the Google Play Books as my eBook reader and Google offers a way to upload ePub files to my "My Books" on play.google.com.

It would be a great feature to do something similar to the "Send to Kindle" or "Send to Dropbox" where my books could be automatically sent to "My Books" in my Google account. An added benefit would also be when I purchase pre-release books and updates become available to have them automatically sync as well. Currently I have to re-send the book to Dropbox and then manually re-upload it to "My Books" again.

At a minimum I would love to see even just a "Send to Google Drive" to make it easier to upload to "My Books" from there instead of needing Dropbox in the middle. I really like how "Send to Dropbox" creates a folder and syncs all of the files to it. Currently when I send a book to Google Drive, it makes me pick a folder and doesn't send all files.

Thanks,
Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Thanks for all your thoughtful feedback. We do have the option to send ebooks to Google Drive. Please choose an ebook and click the "Send Ebook" button, ad then you will see an option to "Send to Google Drive". I hope this helps and have a great day!

    Paul,
I have seen this option but it's not quite the same as how the Send to Dropbox feature works and ideally I'd really like to send/sync it to Google Play Books.

Send to Dropbox creates a folder containing all of the eBook formats. Send to Google Drive currently asks you which file you want to send and then which folder. It also doesn't remember the folder you used last time.

Just hoping to either have Send to Google Drive work more like Send to Dropbox with the ultimate goal of having my eBooks sent directly to "My Books" in Google Play Books.

    Thanks,
    Brian
