"Wikipedia: The Missing Manual" in danger of deletion at Wikimedia Commons

"Wikipedia: The Missing Manual" by John Broughton was apparently officially posted to Wikipedia in early 2009 under a permissive license, and was uploaded to Wikimedia Commons.

Alas, information about the file has it, that the Open-source Ticket Request System (OTRS) at Wikimedia Commons has not received any e-mail that would have verified permission. As of 30 December 2017, this has put the book in danger of deletion.

The book is currently posted at this location:
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...

To resolve this issue, a verification of permission must be e-mailed to the OTRS team at Wikimedia Commons. The licensing area of the file (linked above) has more information about the OTRS procedure.

The fact of migrating the book to Wikipedia was announced on January 27, 2009 by Peter Meyers, the Missing Manuals' managing editor.

On January 28, reception of the book was confirmed by Sue Gardner, executive director of the Wikimedia Foundation.
